It can just happen to you: someone in your family gets sick or has a condition. Then you often have to step in. Do you recognize this? Then you may be a young caregiver!
Being a young caregiver means that you care for or have concerns about someone close to you. It could be worrying about your mother who is often morose, having to look after your disabled brother or doing the shopping for your grandfather with dementia and helping him around the house. In these situations, you are growing up with someone who needs care.
Are you in such a situation? Then chances are you are a young family caregiver. Don't be afraid because you are not alone, 25% of all young people in the Netherlands are young family caregivers. Do you doubt whether you are a young family caregiver or do you think someone in your environment is a young family caregiver? Ask us about it. We would like to meet young family caregivers from the municipality of Berg en Dal. Are you a young volunteer and we don't know you yet? Send us a message!
We organize fun activities for young family caregivers. We are also happy to help you with your questions.
