Uwe's Spring in SIGHT

In this exhibition, which begins at the start of spring, artist Uwe Poth draws inspiration from Goethe's "Osterspaziergang" (Easter Walk). The winter is weakening, the sun no longer wants to see white, it wants color! But there are no flowers yet; spring is blossoming in all its vitality.

Uwe Poth is fascinated by the (painterly) tradition. Many of his works reflect his immediate surroundings and his travels. He also bases a significant part of his oeuvre on major cultural examples, such as Dante Alighieri, Caspar David Friedrich, ‘Das Rheingold’, and ‘De Hortus Deliciarum’.

The work of Uwe Poth is the result of ‘the sensation of seeing,’ something which is unconditional for him. A journey, reading something, dreams, memories, these are triggers to start something. He shows that painting is both illusion and tradition. See and experience Uwe's spring in Sight!
